About Mac
Mac joined the firm in 1973 after graduating with distinction from the University of Iowa, College of Law. As a labor lawyer for our firm, Mac has extensive experience representing individual employees, as well as labor unions and their members, throughout Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Mac’s experience includes representing labor unions and their members at both the state and federal level, presenting numerous cases to state and federal trial and appellate courts. Additionally, Mac has also presented numerous labor law matters to the Iowa Public Relations Board, the National Labor Relations Board and arbitrators.
Mac’s expertise in labor law is widely regarded. He has been recognized by, and inducted into, both the Northwest Iowa Labor Council Hall of Fame and the Iowa Federation of Labor Hall of Fame, in 2003 and 2014, respectively. Other organizations also enjoy Mac’s legal experience, including the University of Iowa Labor Center where he serves as an adjunct professor for courses on the rights afforded to workers, union leaders, and union members. Mac has also served as an advisor to various candidates for office within both the local and state levels of the Democratic Party.
